Robert Moses’ Kin (RMK) has been an anchor arts institution in the San Francisco Bay Area for 29 years. Since founding the company in 1995, Artistic Director Robert Moses has created more than 100 new works for RMK in collaboration with countless dancers, musicians, choreographers, and community partners.

RMK’s annual home season features the RMK company of performing artists who skillfully showcase politically relevant, culturally transformative, intellectually challenging art. RMK holds free performances throughout the year in public spaces such as Golden Gate Park, and has been included in community festivals, benefits, and lecture demonstrations throughout the city. The company tours nationally and internationally at prestigious events such as Jacob’s Pillow, Bates Dance Festival, OPEN LOOK St. Petersburg International Dance Festival, and more.

RMK regularly commissions artists and community partners of varying cultural, social, and economic statuses and Moses has helped kickstart the careers of hundreds of dancers and performing artists through classes, workshops, DRAFT and BY Series programs. 

RMK’s newest education program, “Bootstraps: Lyric Legacies” provides an opportunity for youth and elders of differing backgrounds to explore and self-validate their creative and artistic impulses. Students at multiple SFUSD schools and local community centers in underserved neighborhoods of SF work with teaching artists in disciplines of dance, music, and writing, creating a sense of community and support.
