Dramaworks is a non-profit organization that operates the West End Theatre (www.westendtheatre.us) and houses several programs: 1. Local community theatrical productions – there are 3-4 play season each year from August through June. 2. The Magic Beanstalk Players program is for children in K – 8 that teaches theatre arts curriculum and produces 2 plays per year in addition to a summer camp session. 3. The Sierra West End Educational Theatre Program or SWEET is a drama based teen peer-mentor program that serves students in 9 – 12th grades after school and produces 2 plays per year. 4. The venue, The West End Theatre, is a state of the art black box theatre that is utilized for plays, recitals, theatrical contests and competitions, exhibitions, orchestras, concerts, other musical productions, and community rentals. Both the local schools and community college use this venue for their productions. Dramaworks is the only arts-education program in the county and the West End Theatre is the only black-box facility in the region. This organization prides itself in consistently offering a safe space for individuals of all ages to learn, grow, and be entertained. Our youth programming helps young people build self-confidence and develop important life skills while our community theatre encourages self-discovery and lifelong learning.
