With support from the California Arts Council, Cantare Con Vivo will provide access to high-quality choral music education and performance opportunities to over 4000 children and adults in the East Bay. Through these offerings, we strive to foster awareness, appreciation, respect, and compassion across geographical, cultural and economic boundaries.
Cantare is an inter-generational non-profit choral music organization that engages participants from ages 4 to 85 from Alameda and Contra Costa counties. We provide tuition-free choral music residencies to under-resourced K-12 children in the Oakland Unified School District, serving approximately 2,650 students through 95 weekly classrooms, 9 after-school youth choirs, a multilingual music program and annual 2-week summer camp. We are committed to removing barriers of access so that every child can have the opportunity to find, develop and share their unique voice.
