With support from the California Arts Council, Art for the Young at Heart will provide low-income children and seniors opportunities to learn and share art skills in drawing and design, beginning watercolor, and in the creation of a children’s storybook about their cultural heritage using writing and illustrating skills. These elementary students from Lafayette School in Eureka will also make puppets of the characters in their stories. The project will culminate in a “Sobre Mesa” gathering of participating families at the end of the school year.
