Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, VALLEJO SYMPHONY ASSOCIATION (VS) will hire our first Composer-in-Residence. During this appointment, he will work with students in the Vallejo School District to compose pieces of music, under the tutelage of our Music Director, who will perform these pieces with our professional orchestra during our school concerts. The Composer-in-Residence will also write a new work, to be premiered by the VS the following year, and will appear at public events.

Serving under the baton of Maestro Marc Taddei since 2016, the Vallejo Symphony, along with Maestro Taddei, seeks to present unique seasons that will make a significant cultural contribution and enrich the Bay Area arts scene.
Vallejo Symphony’s professional musicians, guest artists, and Maestro Taddei are committed to bringing live music into classrooms across Solano County, creating participatory experiences that engage and thrill students of all ages.
