Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, THE P G K PROJECT INC will provide Free, Weekly PGK DANCE for ALL Classes over 2 separate and distinct 25 week residencies at Malcolm X Library and the Jackie Robinson YMCA for residents of historically underserved communities in Southeast San Diego. Each set of participants will help create and perform an original dance work for 2 performances including one at library and the YMCA. Participants will also receive free tickets to PGK DANCE shows.
Organization Summary
The PGK Dance Project, professional contemporary repertory company performing works by a wide variety of diverse choreographers year round. Produces Dance on the EDGE annually presenting up to 25 professional, semi-professional companies of diverse styles for free inside of Mission Federal Credit Union’s ARTWALK. Extensive public engagement with dance outreach, classes, workshops in community spaces including but not limited to: Libraries, community centers, alternative sites, parks.
