With support from the California Arts Council, International House Davis (I-House) will support over 40 performing groups and other artists that participate in the 10th annual International Festival (I-Fest) taking place on Oct 4th, 2020. This festival gives the artists and their communities the opportunity to claim their right to share their cultures in public space. The free, one-day festival in Davis’ Central Park will include over 40 cultural performances, and 50 informational booths.
I-House offers many ways to connect and learn through arts, culture, and humanities programs. Our learning program includes volunteer-led language conversation, cooking, music, and dance opportunities, activating community members to share their knowledge, experience, and cultural traditions with others. Our I-House World Tour is our cultural presenting program that offers performances, talks, exhibits, and gatherings by artists and cultural practitioners. Anchored by our signature event, International Festival Davis, our presenting program creates space for cultural practitioners from around Northern California – artists, musicians, storytellers, dancer makers, scholars, chefs, historians – with an international or intercultural lens to share and engage the I-House community in their work. I-House also provides community-building activities for newcomers, visitors and transplants through our International Parent Community, English PRactice Partnership Program, Fulbright Enrichment Program, and the UC Davis Humphrey program office support.
