With support from the California Arts Council, DIAMOND IN THE RAW (DITR) will provide Concepts in a Box Leadership & Film Boot Camp after school and summer workshops that teach 100 foster care/at-risk girls, ages 12-18, media arts: film making disciplines that cover development, pre-production, production and post-production. Teen participants develop, shoot and edit their own short movies which are screened during a DITR film award event.
DITR has summer and after-school workshops geared towards educating and preparing youth for rewarding Arts careers in the Film making and Entertainment industries.
Concepts in a Box Film Boot Camp exposes 30+ girls and a few boys to a wide range of entertainment industry career opportunities. Students learn all aspects of an industry project from development/pre-production through production and post-production.
You’re Not Listening~ To What I Have to SAY! provides an opportunity for foster care young girls, ages 15-18 years old, to explore storytelling through digital media. Participants voice their personal issues and independently come up with a solution through film making. Youth receive hands-on instruction from pre-production through post-production, to hone each individual’s creative talents.
