Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, SCREAMFEST HORROR FILM FESTIVAL will hire the public relations firm MPRM Communications to provide publicity outreach for our annual film festival in Oct. 2020 to build more support for film festival attendance, reach younger and ethnically diverse artists and audiences, build partnerships with other arts organizations, and raise awareness for the organization itself.

Organization Summary

Our core programming gives Southern California residents the opportunity to watch films from around the world exposing them to a diverse culture in filmmaking artistry and to interact with these filmmakers. Screamfest hosts screenings and workshops on directing, writing, storyboarding, cinematography, special effects makeup, acting and sound for underserved at-risk youth as a way to introduce them to potential careers in the arts.

Screamfest does new and retrospective screenings throughout the year to further engage its constituents. Monthly screenings include, MOM & DAD with Q&A with Nicolas Cage & Selma Blair, 20th anniversary screening of SCREAM followed by a Q&A with David Arquette, BRIDE OF CHUCKY with Jennifer Tilly, Brad Dourif and Alexis Arquette, screenings and cast reunions of FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VII and NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET PART 4.
