Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, SAM AND ALFREDA MALOOF FOUNDATION FOR ARTS AND CRAFTS will develop the Maloof Artists’ Hands Initiative, which brings together three remarkable artists, each with a unique connection to the legacy and community of California Modernist woodworker Sam Maloof (1916-2009). Through their proposed works—each made with wood as a key element—the three artists aspire to shape the humblest of materials into creations both artful and unforgettable.
