Carnatic Chamber Concerts (CCC) organizes monthly events to showcase the musical abilities of about 25-28 students. Each month, student performers are drawn from various music schools and backgrounds. In keeping with their ability and age, students present for time slots that range from 5 to 30 minutes. In addition to monthly events, CCC organizes special events, workshops and lecture demonstrations to further educate students of music. CCC also offers group learning opportunities from Master Artists and presents group performances as a showcase event of that learning. With its unique concept, CCC serves as an umbrella organization for South Indian Classical music learning among youth in the Bay Area. Learning Indian classical music is like climbing a ladder over many years. Students can mark milestones in their learning by performing for CCC in time slots that range from 5-30 minutes. In addition to performing, every month they get to listen to other youth perform, thus building their own musical knowledge while fostering camaraderie.. Through attending workshops and lecture demonstrations, students get to do a deep dive into one or more aspects of music. Through its programs and services, CCC serves its core student group helping them climb the ladder of musical learning with each passing year. Our programs and services have reaped demonstrable rewards – over the past 16 years, CCC youth have been recognized for their musical abilities in USA, and in India by winning awards from prestigious music organizations such as the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana (largest Indian music/dance festival in the world, outside of India) and Madras Music Academy (organization of top graded musicians based in India). In a full circle moment, some early performers of CCC have started teaching music and now we have started featuring some of their students in our monthly concerts.
