A Step Beyond (ASB) is a creative after-school youth development program built around a curriculum of dance education and performance. All participants, who enter the program in 3rd or 4th grade, engage in dance, receive academic tutoring and other assistance as necessary or desired, participate in support groups, and have access to individual and family counseling and limited case management services. ASB also offers college preparatory activities once participants reach the 7th grade, and operates a parent council.
