With support from the California Arts Council, Japanese Friendship Garden Society will be able to send six of its staff to attend the only Japanese garden conference in United States. The funding will pay for the conference registration, tours and networking events.
The JFG provides exhibitions, cultural events, performances, wellness program, classes, workshops, cultural festivals and demonstrations that represent Japanese culture.
Exhibitions- JFG exhibition program seeks to promote Japan’s artistic and cultural heritage and concentrated on solo exhibitions by emerging and acclaimed artists from people of all ages and backgrounds.
Weekly Cultural Classes, Demonstrations and Group Tours- JFG offers weekly cultural classes such as Zori making (Japanese sandals), Japanese cooking, Japanese language, tea ceremony, GO and ikebana. The JFG holds tea ceremony demonstrations and Koto and Shakuhachi performances every month. JFG holds annual gong concert and martial arts demonstration. In addition, the JFG provides six docents tours every week in addition to 100 scheduled tours and school groups.
