Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles will conduct an 11-week residency with artist Corinne Takara to engage San Jose neighborhoods in a series of pop-up activities. Community members will learn to grow biomaterials and create artwork that will be incorporated into three collaborative quilts. The quilts will be shown in free exhibitions across San Jose. A dedicated website will share participants’ stories and document the project.
