Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, IDYLLWILD ARTS FOUNDATION will present its summer 2019 Film, Digital Media & Sound program, consisting of five filmmaking courses for kids and teens of all skill levels. CAC funds will support salary and housing costs for four CA-based filmmakers who will lead the classes, and will provide full-ride scholarships, including travel and lab fee stipends, for 2-3 deserving California-based young persons with Native American tribal affiliation.

Organization Summary

Idyllwild Arts’ annual Summer Program offers 120+ immersive workshops led by exceptional teachers and practicing artists, in creative writing; dance, fashion/inter-arts; film, digital media & sound; music; theatre; and visual arts. Our programs for youth include the Children’s Center (ages 5-8), the Junior Artist’s Center (ages 9-13) and High School Intensives & Workshops (13-18). We also offer a Family Week, with classes designed for all members of the family. Our Adult Arts Center features workshops, events and activities for lifelong learners of all skill levels.

Idyllwild Arts Academy provides intensive pre-professional training in creative writing, dance, film & digital media, fashion/inter-arts, music, theatre, and visual arts, along with a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum, to high school-aged students.

Throughout the year, we present a variety of musical and theatrical performances, art exhibitions, lectures and other programming that is open to the public.
