With support from the California Arts Council, Lambda Literary Foundation will produce the third
metropolitan-wide Lambda LitFest, a week-long community-building series of readings and discussions
that examine the role of LGBTQ literature in LA’s cultural ecology. Collaborating with 30+ community
partners and taking place at multiple venues city-wide, Lambda LitFest will bring LGBTQ writers and
readers together for a dynamic week of artistic and intellectual engagement.
Lambda Literary is the nation’s leader in promoting LGBTQ literature. Lambda Literary’s programs include the Lambda Literary Review, a web magazine that offers audiences year-round, free content of interest (LGBTQ book reviews, author interviews, book and publishing industry news, etc.) to readers, writers, agents, booksellers, publishers, editors, educators, and librarians; the annual Lambda Literary Awards that celebrate the best of LGBTQ books of the year; the annual Writers Retreat for Emerging LGBTQ Voices week-long residency; the metropolitan-wide Lambda LitFest ; LGBTQ Writers in Schools program bringing LGBTQ writers into classrooms for readings and discussions; the publication of original writing that includes the e-journal Nepantla: A Journal Dedicated to Queer Poets of Color, and an anthology by Writers Retreat fellows, Emerge; several literary prizes; and free public group readings around the country.
