With support from the California Arts Council, Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation will offer a program of hands-on arts training in a series of workshops to achieve several objectives, including: to enhance the suite of rehabilitative options for youth in the Redwood City Juvenile Diversion Program; to pilot a program for future expansion throughout San Mateo County; to cultivate positive ties between at-risk youth, members of law enforcement, and the community where they live.
The foundation co-hosts, provides online ticketing support, and organizes volunteers in support of the City of Redwood City’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department’s (PRCS) work to provide recreational programs and host community events for residents. The foundation hosts annual events such as: a chalk festival, Family Campout, and Picnic en Blanc. The foundation initiates and partners with other organizations and individuals to bring more public art to the city. The foundation manages the Kindness Ambassador Program in collaboration with the PRCS. The foundation raises funds for PRCS programs and initiatives, such as the COVID-19 Rental Support and Food Relief Fund. The foundation serves as the fiscal sponsor for other local arts and culture organizations that align with our mission.
