With support from the California Arts Council, FORD THEATRE FOUNDATION (FTF) will continue its programming initiative for veterans, started in 2018, through two programs: 1) a series of participatory workshops with artist Arianne MacBean focused on the experiences of female veterans; and 2) a new partnership with Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles that will employ veterans as technical crew, involving them in every stage of the production with the goal of increasing their career options.
Core programs include:
IGNITE @ the FORD!, a presented series of compelling and contemporary work by nationally and internationally-renowned artists.
Artist Partnership Program, our annual summer series of music, dance, theatre and film presented in partnership with LA County arts organizations and producers. Partners are selected through a competitive application process and receive front of house, production and marketing support, while keeping up to 90% of box office proceeds.
Big World Fun, culturally diverse music and dance events presented on Saturday mornings in July and August in the outdoor amphitheatre. Performances are geared towards children ages four to 12 and their families. Admission is free for children and only $5 for adults.
JAM Sessions, a free interactive series that allows all Angelenos sing, dance and play music with the guidance of professional artists. JAM Sessions take place at the Ford and at public sites throughout Los Angeles County.
