With support from the California Arts Council, VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS MEDIA will program First Street North Open: An Interactive Multidimensional Timeline (FSN Open) which will include multimedia wall mapping, a website, and an audio-visual walking tour enhanced with augmented reality. This project’s research will serve as a resource for community activists, artists, and organizations committed to Little Tokyo’s legacy and its ongoing fight for sustainability, justice, and self-determination.
Visual Communications’ programs includes: the annual Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and year‐round screenings and exhibitions; the Armed With a Camera Fellowship for Emerging Media Artists; the Digital Histories media production and storytelling program for older adults. We are home to the VC Archives, one of the largest photographic and moving image collections on Asian Pacific experiences in America.
