Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, THE P G K PROJECT INC will provide Free, Weekly “One Movement / One Community” Dance Classes over a 30 week residency at Malcolm X Library geared for the residents of the historically underserved Diamond Neighborhoods of San Diego. Regardless of experience, age,
condition participants will also help create and perform an original dance work they inform for 3 performances at The Gathering Place, a former vacant lot now a robust community site.
Organization Summary
The PGK Dance Project, professional contemporary repertory company performing works by a wide variety of diverse choreographers year round. Produces Dance on the EDGE annually presenting up to 25 professional, semi-professional companies of diverse styles for free inside of Mission Federal Credit Union’s ARTWALK. Extensive public engagement with dance outreach, classes, workshops in community spaces including but not limited to: Libraries, community centers, alternative sites, parks.
