With support from the California Arts Council, PASO ROBLES ART ASSOCIATION will develop Veterans Voices, an immersive program with three ways to participate: as a veteran artist; as an artist mentoring a veteran; or as an artist interpreter, listening and learning from a veteran, turning their story, and their vision into art. The year-long multi-disciplinary program culminates in a month-long exhibition.
We provide a variety of art classes from professional artists for our membership and the community at large: Everything from painting, drawing, atelier art classes and mixed media. We conduct outreach to K-12 schools, provide scholarships for students through Cuesta College, and offer free memberships and mentoring for k-12 students. We hold monthly art exhibitions with receptions, art related excursions, and weekly meetings for our guilds: Painting, pastel, and photography. We also participate in community art projects. Our outreach includes veterans’ classes for PTSD, creative journaling, free painting for veterans and their families, and specific monthly exhibitions designed to build bridges through art.
