Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, Malaya Filipino American Dance Arts will stimulate the growth of its artistic programming for the Filipino American community in Los Angeles. The funds will help advance the Board and leadership’s training for fund development and long term programming. Malaya also will use the grant to increase its marketing tools for outreach and to broaden its scope with the Filipino American community.
Organization Summary
Malaya provides Filipino dance and music classes to the Los Angeles community particularly in the San Fernando Valley. Membership is open to all ages and all ethnic backgrounds. Malaya is also a deposit for Filipino culture and provides educational programs and workshops for schools, universities, and community organizations. Malaya maintains a performing arts company and is available for private and public performances.
