Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, Hernandez Mariachi Heritage Society will provide a program of concert level mariachi music, performed by Mariachi Sol de Mexico and Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles for public school students attending South El Monte High School. The program will also feature a “master class” style instruction with Maestro Jose Hernandez and a student selected from South El Monte High School orchestra program.
Organization Summary
The core programs of the Mariachi Heritage Society are: 1) mariachi instruction in the schools and 2) production of the annual mariachi summer institute known as the Mariachi Nationals.
