Organization Summary

SFP has been a leader in the Bay Area cultural scene since our founding in 1979. We have introduced hundreds of classical music, jazz and contemporary dance artists to audiences. With a strong artistic vision and adventurous programming, SFP is the city’s premier presenter of intimate concerts, solo recitals and dance.

Presenting a range of the world’s finest touring artists, and giving them the freedom to create their own unique programs for our series, is at the core of the SFP mission. SFP is also recognized for introducing new artists to the Bay Area and for inviting them to return often, as they become better known to our community. We are committed to providing opportunities for audiences—from those who attend our concerts, to public school students who encounter music and dance for the very first time through our Artists-in-Residence program—to engage personally with artists and gain a deeper understanding of their work.
