With support from the CAC, the Foundation for the Performing Arts Center will fund the 2018-19 season of the School Matinee Program and the Poly Arts for Youth Program. The School Matinee Program (SMP) brings thousands of students from San Luis Obispo County and beyond to the Performing Arts Center for free live performances every year. The Poly Arts for Youth program co-contracts SMP artists and takes them to local K-12 school sites for in-depth, curriculum-based sessions with students.
The Foundation for the Performing Arts Center, alongside its partners the City of San Luis Obispo and California Polytechnic State University, subsidizes annual operational, maintenance and capital improvement costs of the Performing Arts Center, San Luis Obispo (PAC). Additionally, the Foundation focuses on increasing accessibility to the arts for residents of all ages. The Foundation provides arts-education programs benefiting local students, such as the School Matinee Program, which serves over 12,000 K-12 students annually, and provides financial and mission-driving support for the PAC’s resident performing arts companies.
