Directions, Schedule, Requirements, and Terms
Celebrate your creativity through primary colors—red, blue, and yellow. This exhibit series invites artists to submit artwork composed of one primary color to build an immersive viewing experience throughout AWD galleries: Founders’, Underground, and Donors’ Galleries. Join us in celebrating these elemental colors at the heart of artistic creation while supporting the ArtRageous art party and fundraising event for Art Works Downtown as the heart of our artistic community.

Exhibit Project and ArtRageous Fundraiser
Red, Bue, Yellow will exhibit in the Underground Gallery, Donors’ Gallery, and Founders’ Gallery. The installation is salon-style for a dynamic, diverse, and immersive viewing experience for viewers and shoppers. Each artwork will include a label.
The goal of these exhibits is to pack three galleries full of art of the same color to create an installation space filled with individual works. The exhibit will be promoted as part of AWD’s Fundraising Event with the sales of artwork supporting the nonprofit Art Works Downtown (see Sales section for details) as well as the artist.
During the Fundraising event, the spaces will receive special decorations and additions because they will become features for event attendees.
Delivery of artwork. Artwork(s) must be hand delivered to Art Works Downtown, 1337 Fourth St., San Rafael according to the Exhibit Schedule. Artwork must be labeled (legibly) with artist’s name on the back or bottom of the piece. The artist must check-in upon delivery to complete the contract and receive confirmation from staff. If a representative of the artist delivers, the artist must email ahead to give the representative’s name. email: christine@artworksdowntown.org.
Pick-up. Pick up unsold work according to the Exhibit Schedule’s pick up days and times. Artists who don’t retrieve their work will be charged a storage fee of $5 per day. Works remaining after 30 days will become property of Art Works Downtown.
Publicity and Image Use Regarding Artwork. Artist permits AWD to use image(s) of exhibiting works for AWD promotions. AWD promotes exhibits through press releases, online forums, newsletters to over 3,500 emails, email postcards, and website. Artists can help with promotion by using the email-postcard and connecting through social media. Please note our name is three words because “works” is a verb: Art Works Downtown.

It is not the artist’s responsibility to report sales tax. Sales are processed and mailed after the exhibition closes. Artist will receive payment within 30 days. Artwork will be permitted to be taken by the buyer during the ArtRageous event.
Liability. Artists may provide their own insurance. Precaution will be taken to safeguard all work from loss or damage, but neither Art Works Downtown nor anyone connected with this exhibition will be responsible for loss or damage from any cause. The art center is staffed during open hours, but not all galleries are monitored. AWD maintains insurance for personal liability only; the artist is responsible for any costs associated with theft or damage.
