Dream A World Education Overview:
Based in Los Angeles, Dream A World Education (DAWE) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization making a difference in the lives of children through the early childhood education curriculum, Secrets of the Heart (SOTH.) DAWE is a pioneer in arts-based social emotional learning for children in primary grades. SOTH is a sequential arts-based curriculum with two related components—in-person residencies in Los Angeles County and web-based programs (SOTH TV)–that work either independently or combined in a hybrid format. Through arts experiences that teach diverse cultural traditions, children learn to develop social and emotional skills that help them identify and express their feelings, promote self-acceptance, strengthen relationships and support academic success.
Currently, DAWE offers three in-person arts residency programs: One World Drum Circles (12 weeks in-person only), Dance in America (12 weeks in-person only) and Secrets of the Heart On-Campus, a year-long hybrid program that combines the 24-week web-based SOTH TV program with 8 monthly in-person Teaching Artist classroom visits.
Planned expansion of on-campus programming includes residencies for 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.
