Call for Teaching Poet
Temporary position –part time termed position, Non Exempt
YoloArts’ Art Education Programs bring professional teaching artists into public school classrooms for 6 week teaching residencies. Providing quality, standards-based arts education, teaching artists guide students in process driven exploration and skill development in the arts.
The Teaching Poet will provide curriculum and instruction for one, six-session, residency with the Yolo County Office of Education Special Education department. There will be four classes: 3 High School and 1 Middle school at sites in Woodland, Davis, and West Sacramento. Teaching Artists are contracted per program opportunity.
All Teaching Poet Applicants will also be reviewed by the Education Committee for entry into the YoloArts Teaching Artist Pool. Accepted artists are eligible to apply for any YoloArts Residency opportunity, teach public programs at the Barn/Gibson House Classroom, and will be listed on YoloArts’ Artist Directory. Teaching Artists are contracted per teaching opportunity. Acceptance into the Teaching Artist Pool does not guarantee a teaching contract. YoloArts will use the Teaching Artist Directory when asked for teaching artist recommendations by partners and other community organizations.
