Consultant – Marketing Content Creator: WordPress, MailChimp, Social Media

The Valley of the Moon Music Festival, a Bay-Area 501(c)(3) organization, is seeking a part-time consultant to maintain and update the organization’s website, design email marketing campaigns, and create social media content. The work is flexible, parttime, and remote.

The Content Creator will work in collaboration with the small year-round festival staff. We offer an exciting opportunity for a creative consultant to support a team of talented staff and other consultants, as we embark on planning for the 9th season and the 10-year anniversary in 2024. 

Responsibilities include: 

• Collaboratively create, edit, coordinate, update, and maintain content for website, social media channels, email marketing, and other digital communication platforms and programs.
• Ensure consistency across all platforms in compliance with our brand, design, and content standards.
• Ensure that digital communication content is current, consistent across platforms, accurate, and visually appealing, and that it is posted and removed in a timely manner.
• Perform related duties as requested.

Job Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in Digital Communications, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Web design: 1 year (Required)
• Social media marketing: 1 year (Required)
• Graphic design experience in print or digital media (work samples required)
• Working knowledge of WordPress
• Working knowledge of MailChimp
• Ability to adapt to an established visual aesthetic and suggest improvements
• Social media skills including Facebook, Instagram and YouTube
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Willingness to collaborate and revise work as requested
• Sense of humor

Desired Additional Qualifications: 

• Experience in video editing a plus
• Knowledge of classical music
• Experience working in the not-for-profit performing arts field
• Northern CA candidates preferred, but not required

Commitment:

Work averages 5–10 hours per week. Consulting fee is negotiable: $25-$30/hour. Please include your minimum hourly rate requirements in your cover letter.
