Development/Special Events Paid Summer Internship
About the Internship
Put your left and right brain to work strategically and creatively for Segerstrom Center for the Arts top-notch fundraising team. The Development summer intern will work alongside two teams in the department, Special Events and Planned Giving.
The intern will assist the Special Events team in planning, coordinating, and executing events for the Center’s larger donor base. This includes President’s dinners and corporate dinners tied to the Centers all-star Broadway lineup of Tootsie, Come From Away, Pretty Woman, and Hadestown. Additionally, they will assist with the Education Department’s annual reception for their renowned Summer at the Center program.
Planned Giving is an area of fundraising that is also referred to as gift planning or legacy giving. Planned gifts are made by passionate and committed donors who want to make a transformational difference for an organization. While working with the Director of Planned Giving, the intern will assist with maintaining the planned giving database, reports, and donor listings, respond to donor inquiries, and assist with the creation and execution of materials and event.
Segerstrom Center’s Summer Internship Program is designed to provide opportunities to individuals from diverse backgrounds and/or those who are members of a group that is underrepresented in our industry. While these internships are inclusive of all people, we strongly encourage candidates from diverse or underrepresented groups to apply.
Although there may be some remote work permitted, we anticipate that this internship will take place fully in person.
