MOCA seeks a Temporary Production Manager to plan and execute all aspects of production related to performance and live programs at the museum. The Production Manager will support the Associate Curator of Performance and Programs and facilitate the presentation of a wide range of performances and live programs including but not limited to performance art, dance, concerts, screenings, and interdisciplinary projects.
Reporting to the Associate Curator of Performance and Programming, the Production Manager will lead production teams for performances and live programs, coordinating the install of staging and scenic design and running live audio, lighting, and video. Job requirements will include pre-production planning, managing pre and post production installs and strikes, execution of performances and events, responding to and coordinating the technical needs and questions of artists, management of technicians, tracking production budgets, and the maintenance and sourcing of equipment. The position will regularly interface with artists and the general public, all with the goal of making performance art and live events as accessible as possible to diverse audiences.

Essential Functions:
Pay Rate: $30 per hour
Part Time. Fixed Term Contract of 4 months.
Physical Demands:
While performing the essential functions of this job, the ideal candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds safely and comfortably and should be able to bend, stoop, and extend comfortably without impediment. This job may require you to work at elevated heights above 6 feet. Applicants should be comfortable climbing ladders up to 8 feet in height and utilizing mechanical lifts for 8 feet and above when necessary. This position may require you to use hand tools and power tools. Comfort and experience with operating heavy equipment is preferred. MOCA can provide adequate training and certification for forklift and scissor lift operation. Candidates are required to have a California valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving the MOCA vehicle, if necessary, for equipment rentals, returns etc. This job may require you to sit or stand for long periods of time.
