The Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brian Health program at the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) seeks emerging leaders interested in becoming part of a global community dedicated to protecting brain health and reducing the scale and impact of dementia around the world. Our focus is to improve our understanding of brain health and dementia, and leading change in practice, perception, and policy.
The Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health program provides innovative training in brain health, leadership, and dementia prevention to a wide range of promising leaders from various disciplines including the arts, business, economics, law, journalism, medicine, public health, policy, and technology.
Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to brain health and health care policy, as well as an ability to implement effective interventions in local communities and a desire to become a regional leader in brain health, with the goal of reducing the scale and impact of dementia around the world.
The GBHI community is engaged in a wide range of artist-led initiatives exploring brain health and dementia. Many of them combine artistic work and evidence-based research to improve our understanding of the experience of people with dementia and their carers, as well as provide opportunities to amplify narratives, change perceptions and stigma, and generate possibilities for community engagement and systemic transformation.
Arts and creativity are key to enhancing brain health as we age, and artists help us to see the world in new ways and to communicate that vision. GBHI embraces art and creativity to improve our understanding of brain health and dementia, and to lead change in practice, perception, and policy.
This is a paid, 12-month, full-time, in residence fellowship opportunity with a base at either the University of California, San Francisco (USA) or Trinity College Dublin (Ireland).
Applications are open until September 30, 2021 for a September 2022 program start.
