Arts Education Teaching Artist

Description

The Lineage Performing Arts Center was founded in 1999 by Lineage Artistic Director Hilary Thomas. We are proud to be a home for connecting through the arts in Pasadena.  Lineage is a place where everyone has an opportunity to create and explore their creative voice. We produce and host performances and engage our community through low-cost and equitable programming at our new space at 920 E. Mountain St. Pasadena, CA 91104.

In 2018 Lineage began the Artists in School program, a dance education residency program which provides free dance education to students in Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) school system. Since then, the art education program has grown to include 3 schools with children from kindergarten through high school and features an ambassador program for late-middle through high school students.

Lineage’s vision of a community is one where the arts are accessible to all.  We aim to tell the stories of all walks of life and are committed to fostering diversity and inclusion within our own artists, staff, and patrons.
