Business Manager

Description

FLMS is looking for a highly skilled and curious “hands-on” business manager to join our team and help us grow our tradition of unparalleled student success. This role has a high potential for advancement, with opportunities to move forward within the company. You will be working remotely with a small collaborative team and leaders within the organization to provide day to day operational support and strategic insights. You will be working at the intersection of our three divisions: Filmmaking Lab Studios (content creation), Joan Scheckel Filmmaking Labs (educational programs), Filmmaking Labs Media (the distribution of instructional content in digital formats). The goal of this role is to identify and implement innovation opportunities that have a meaningful impact on the way FLMS fulfills its mission in the entertainment space. Ultimately, you’re responsible for continuing the success of our daily business practices — and ushering in a new era of growth at FLMS. 

 

Objectives of this Role

Organize The Lab Series educational programs and ensure the production of 1 to 2 Labs per month
Oversee sales, marketing strategy, creation of assets, and administrative activities directly related to the Labs
Create, delegate, oversee the implementation of processes to optimize daily operations, while doing parts of the operations in order to think through and support optimizing our systems to strategically build our team as we expand
Innovative developer that manages daily needs to create optimization and processes
Role manages 2 direct reports on a daily basis
Interface with FLMS owner, Joan Scheckel, and liaise directly with high profile artists interested in The Lab Series from around the world
Represent as the voice of the business and build the direction of the company
Lead strategic partnerships on the creation of marketing content
Liaise with accounting department to establish financial objectives, targeting sales goals

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, management, marketing or related field
At least 3 years experience as a business manager or relevant managerial role
Proven experience with business and strategy development processes
Outstanding poise in a high demand and high profile educational training environment
Superior leadership skills, with a focus on employee development

Preferred Qualifications

Strong knowledge in Google Drive, Airtable, Photoshop, Zoom, Dropbox, Hootsuite
Previous data analysis experience
Proven ability with financial and budgetary processes
Prior educational training industry experience and maintain a pulse on current and relevant trends including virtual learning
