ABOUT STRATA GALLERY
Strata Gallery was founded in 2021 as a non-profit membership gallery that seeks to showcase the work of internationally established artists whose development has typically followed trajectories tangential to prevalent avant-garde trends. It also showcases the work of promising Emerging Artists who otherwise struggle for gallery exposure, as their work is also at variance with those same trends. To some degree the example of these Established Artists validates the promise of those who are still emergent, and the gallery encourages loose creative partnerships between these two groups. Strata Gallery avoids favoring any distinct style and promotes a range of authentic individual expression embodying diverse material practices, imagery, style, and ethos. Strata Gallery is located in the historic Santa Fe Plaza at 125 Lincoln Ave, Suite 111, Santa Fe, NM 87501.
COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY
Strata Gallery was established as a membership gallery with the primary goal of creating a space for our artists to showcase their work, as well as to create a dialogue between our Established and Emerging artists. Strata Gallery strives to cultivate a membership that reflects the diversity of the community we live in. Held Together: Fragility & Endurance in Art, Virtual Exhibition & Print Catalog
Held Together delves into the intricate interplay between fragility and endurance, exploring how moments of vulnerability can coexist with remarkable strength. It invites viewers to reflect on fragility in its many forms—personal, societal, and environmental—and consider how instability, loss, and uncertainty shape the human experience.
For this exhibition, we’re seeking work that examines how artists navigate the delicate tensions in their lives and the world around them, confronting themes of impermanence, resilience, and repair. We welcome both literal and abstract interpretations of fragility and endurance.
By examining the spaces where things come undone and are rebuilt, Held Together is a testament to the beauty and complexity of resilience in a world that is both precarious and full of possibility.
Eligibility: Artists of all backgrounds, disciplines, and experience levels are invited to submit their work for consideration. Must be 18+ to submit.
We accept all 2D & 3D mediums, including painting, drawing, photography, digital, prints, fiber art, collage, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, and installation art. We do not accept film or video at this time.
Magazine & Catalogue Feature:
This exhibition will be featured in our quarterly print magazine, New Visionary. Additionally, a print catalog will be available, showcasing all the artists included in the exhibition.
