The Programs Associate is a dynamic and creative member of the team who is committed to advancing social justice and making an impact in contemporary art.
The Exhibitions and Program Associate will be responsible for programming and production, community outreach, research, and supporting exhibitions and projects. They possess strong project management skills, networking, and community engagement, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
The Associate will report to the Curator, and works closely with the team.
Key Responsibilities include:
Exhibitions, Programs and Projects
Plan and implement programs, exhibitions, and projects to meet our mission to elevate underserved communities and be a voice for equality at CCC Visual Art Center, 41 Ross, and off-site at “Museum without Walls.”
- Work closely with Curator to design programming, and implement from start to finish
- Produce programmatic and exhibition materials, including drafting, editing, and proofing curatorial statements, biographies, articles, press releases, newsletters, and other collateral. This includes translation of materials and institutional correspondence as needed.
- Oversee publication production, including layout, content, images, timeline, and budget
- Work closely with engagement & education staff to develop content and curriculum for youth & seniors.
- Collect and report quantitative and qualitative data on exhibitions and programs: tracking programmatic audience, conducting audience surveys and evaluating program effectiveness, working with budget, documentation of programs through photography, video, and notes.
- Work collaboratively to ensure effective communications with funders and project compliance
- Comply with grant contracts: including draft and proof grant reports, meet project deliverables
- Assist with fundraising to meet organizational goals, through grants, sponsorship, and donor cultivation events, including participating in other events
- Act as an ambassador to promote CCC’s mission and vision through staffing the gallery, giving gallery tours, presentations, tabling at events, participating in panels, engaging with partners at other events, and others
- Recruit, train, manage volunteers, including assignment and scheduling.

Community Outreach
Research, develop, grow and maintain outreach list; build and maintain relationships with a variety of arts, community partners, and patrons
- Invite community partners, schools, and affiliate groups to CCC activities
- Work collaboratively with partners to develop and execute axillary events
- Evaluate opportunities and key relationships for the organization to hold
- Identify, initiate, and cultivate partnerships across sectors with funders, community partners, businesses, artists, volunteers and other strategic partners to build a family to support our mission
Communications
- Design and develop materials for outreach and programming, including powerpoint presentations, reports, flyers
- Evaluate online presence, collaborate with communications team to update channels.
Ideal Candidate:
- BA or equivalent experience in visual arts, art history, art history, museum studies, arts management, or related field
- Strong critical thinking and cultural awareness
- Possesses a proven record in program implementation and community engagement
- Minimum of two years in a management or self-directed position.
- Can proactively problem-solve potential issues and communicate with the team.
- Available to work weekend and evening hours when required
- Comfortable with public speaking in large groups and in other settings
- Be able to lift heavy objects (50lbs)
- Bilingual ability in Chinese strongly preferred
