JCO’S Art Haus seeks a Gallery Sales Associate to join our tiny-but-mighty team of art lovers. Help us grow our business and connect with art collectors in the Bay Area and beyond.
This is a creative position ideally suited for an independently-motivated go-getter interested in collaborating with a small, passionate team. You must have a phenomenal eye for art, strong communication skills, and be comfortable with closing high-ticket sales. Based on your unique skill set (eg: graphic design, social media marketing, writing), the exact scope of this collaborative role is flexible. What can you bring to the table?
o Creating, developing, and sustaining relationships with artists, collectors, consultants, and interior designers
o Generating leads and closing sales
o Building an in-depth understanding of each artists’s individual practice and biography
o Assisting in the back-end development of our digital gallery, powered by Shopify
o Working closely with the Gallery Director in the conducting of art sales and planning of sales strategies
o Additional job-related duties as assigned
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
o Ability to work independently and efficiently
o Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
o Proficiency in basic computing, including Microsoft Office Suite and digital inventory maintenance
o Available to staff the gallery on rotation, including evenings and weekends. Saturday availability is mandatory.
o E-commerce experience preferred, but not required
Part-time position (approximately 25 hours weekly), with possibility for growth
Competitive hourly compensation commensurate with experience
