“With support from the California Arts Council, Youth ARTS Alive will provide 225 hours of free classes in Theatre, Dance, Music, Pottery and Visual Arts over a five-week summer period to 120 youth 12 – 18 years of age, coming from low-income families in underserved neighborhoods of Santa Maria.
We will extend our reach, adding a 4th class site in an underserved neighborhood, increasing student numbers by 25%.
We will mentor 4 ART Interns ages 18-24 in teaching and Arts Program Administration.
In 2017, Santa Barbara County Action Network (SBCAN) became the fiscal sponsor for Youth ARTS Alive so we could provide Free Summer Arts Education for the Youth of low-income families in under-served neighborhoods of Santa Maria.
