With support from the California Arts Council, YOUNG ARTISTS CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC will allow us to serve children in the Vallejo City Unified School District. Our goal is to enhance child development and academic achievement by supplementing teacher instruction with music education. Through choral instruction students learn the rudiments of music (rhythm, melody, scales). The primary teacher is present to provide support. Two concerts give children the experience and excitement of performance.
We operate 2 divisions to address distinct needs in our community. Solano Music Conservatory (SMC) offers 4 programs to meet the evolving needs of families seeking comprehensive formal musical training. Little Arts (ages 4-5) Core Arts (ages 6+) Pro-Arts (ages 10+) Inner Arts (Music Therapy and Behavioral Interventions). In our SMC division, students can study piano, voice, violin, viola, cello, guitar, bass guitar, drum kit, percussion, trumpet, trombone, sax, clarinet, and flute. Each of these programs offer private lessons, musicianship / theory classes and ensembles (orchestra, rock band, and jazz band, chamber).
Music Matters for Behavioral Health in Schools and other community partners (MM) brings music education to children and youth in underserved schools. MM programs include concert band, jazz band, enrichment after-school programs, orchestra, guitar ensemble, chorus and theater classes.
At the core of services is strategic outreach, bringing performances, education, demonstrations to public outdoor spaces and public venues.
