Project Description

With support from CAC, Atrium 916 will be able to help more creatives and reduce wait times for Creative Economic Development Service Programs (Currently have 170 creatives on the Sacramento.Shop waitlist). Atrium 916 serves over 650 underserved BAIPOC, Disabled & LGBTQ creatives in the Sacramento region.

Organization Summary

The Atrium is a collaborative community of creatives and entrepreneurs centered on the idea of doing business for good. With impactful art, projects, solutions and events.

*Artist Studios & Co-working* – Atrium offers under market studio space for artists, and arts organizations, with mentorship, development and business opportunities.

*Eco Art Market* – UpcyclePop is an outdoor art market for ecofriendly art and upcycled items. Help weekly Spring to Fall in the tourist district of Old Sacramento Waterfront. An affordable art vendor market that creates opportunities for local creatives to test market and sell their work while educating market attendees on sustainability.

*Educational Art Exhibits* – We hire creatives to produce playful, educational art installations- like ‘The Recycle Challenge’ with Sacramento Waste Authority.

*Resources* – An online robust resource page updated frequently for creatives to fund funding and creative opportunities to build their creative practice, capacity and revenue streams.

*Art Café Community Center* Walk in, make art, 6 days a week at our zero waste, open-air outdoor workspace, designed to open creativity to all, building community resilience, coping skills, and improve mental health.

*Classes & Events* – Classes and events from art making to business skills in the creative space.

*Gallery Highlight Program*

*Sacramento.Shop* – an online marketplace for Sacramento made items, with same day delivery in Sacramento, plastic free shipping nationwide and free pickup from the retail store. Developed as a covid response program and has been an economic driver for Sacramento makers and creatives.

*Creative Economy Meeting* – Atrium hosts participatory meetings designed for the local creative economy to find creative opportunities that will build their creative capacity, with grant opportunities, call for artists and artist work opportunities. These meetings, with hundreds on each meeting, became the leading advocacy effort that helped raise close to $30 million dollars for the Sacramento Creative Economy.
