Everybody Dance LA! (EDLA!) transforms lives and communities through the power of dance. Our mission is to provide high-quality dance education to youth who live in low-income areas of Los Angeles. This important work cultivates lifelong skills of collaboration, discipline, and self-expression so our youth become confident and engaged participants in their education, career, and community. Our rigorous dance curriculum increases:
– students’ proficiency in the language and skills of dance;
– physical fitness
– appreciation for dance and the arts;
– sense of community; and
– positive self-development.
The Gabriella Foundation changed its name in June 2021 to, Everybody Dance LA! inspired by the life of Gabriella Axelrad. We feel this new name reflects who we are and where we are headed for the next 20 years. Our passion for dance and equity in Los Angeles is right there in our new name. It was also important to us to honor our founder, Liza Bercovici’s work and the memory of her daughter, Gabriella Axelrad, who was the inspiration behind the movement.
