With support from the California Arts Council, the SBCC Atkinson Gallery and the SBCC Transitions Program will provide 21 hours of artistic instruction and experiences to 70 formerly incarcerated adults in Santa Barbara. The activities supported by this Reentry Through the Arts grant will build a sense of community for Transitions students, increasing their chances of success in college while providing creative and meaningful experiences that will help their reintegration into the community.
SBCC provides outstanding, affordable higher education and lifelong learning, and works to ensure academic success for all students as they earn a degree or certificate, prepare for transfer, or gain occupational competencies and academic skills needed to advance in their careers.
