The California Theatre hosts a robust calendar of diverse performances averaging five nights per week, showcasing local musicians, dancers, actors, and other artists in a friendly and accessible venue. People of all ages. abilities, and identities enjoy social dancing to a wide variety of local and international musical styles. The California’s strong theater programs center works written and performed by diverse artists.

Our Young Actors Studio program serves local families and youth with training and performances. Students in the program receive conservatory level training at affordable prices led by some of the areas best theatre instructors, actors, singers and dancers. The productions are community oriented but professional quality with all youth performers. The material we select is age appropriate and crowd- pleasing in nature for friends and families to enjoy. YAS attracts nearly 180 student performers and another 1,500 attendees annually.

Our award-winning LET brand produces daring plays for adventurous audiences. The focus is on high-quality professionally produced contemporary plays which have not previously been presented in Sonoma County. We estimate our annual LET attendance at 3,000 theatre goers. LET hires approximately 50 actors, 25 technicians and has nearly 100 volunteers each season.

Artistic programs create a foundation of excellence, experience, and knowledge in support of young artists and seasoned performers who are interested in making this field their lifelong profession. We have many young artists who go onto Santa Rosa’s ARTQUEST program, Santa Rosa Junior College’s renown Summer Repertory Theatre (SRT), as well as professional companies in Marin, East Bay, San Francisco, and New York City.
