Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, STONE SOUP FRESNO will continue and expand its current Learn Hmong (Kawm Ntawv Hmoob) program by doing the followings: 1) hire one part time instructor, 2) purchase materials to make a miniature Hmong hut and cooking tools from the old country, 3) purchase a digital camera to have on hand to capture pictures and videos of programs for safe keeping and historical records, 4) provide additional tuition scholarships for families who needs.

We recognize our families’ contribution as assets to build a better community for the prosperous future of our children. We are the organization that families turn to when they do not know where else to go. We support our families through the following programming: Advocacy, Preschool and PlayGroup Programs, Parent Leadership, Culture and Community Building, Community Partnership for Social Services. Stone Soup Fresno provides a stable community-serving neighborhood based of operations, including office, training and meeting space for community partners, and our unique roots allow us to serve families as a “HUB” of information. We build intentional partnerships with other community organizations and institutions to bring in their expertise to support families with access to foods, employment training, and basic health and social services.
