With the support of the California Arts Council Creative Youth Development grant, SoCal Arts will have the opportunity to expand its “In-Step” mentorship program. Our goal is to continue to bring dance education to the youth of Southern California, grow our dance programming and expand our school outreach agenda.
SoCal Arts’ comprehensive dance curriculum strives to instill in students a strong sense of self-awareness, empathy, and teamwork. The program focuses on encouraging them to take risks, embrace challenges, and celebrate their unique talents and qualities. The organization’s experienced instructors use a combination of traditional and contemporary dance techniques to foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that can be applied to any aspect of the students’ lives.
SoCal Arts is committed to providing students with an array of opportunities to showcase their talents. As part of the annual In-Step Mentorship Program, students experience Classical Ballet technique, Contemporary dance, Jazz dance, Pilates Mat, Acting for Theatre and Film, and private coaching. The dance program occurs through performances, competitions, or community outreach events throughout the year. At the core, SoCal Arts believes that by empowering dancers to use their voices and express themselves through movement, the organization can inspire them to become confident, compassionate, and responsible leaders who will make a positive impact in the world.
Lastly, SoCal Arts welcomes young and professional artists to use the safe space to create artistic dance and media projects. Through collaborations and artistic consulting, SoCal Arts is not only a beacon of dance education but also a place that empowers artists to flourish in their field.
