Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, SCLASS will continue to educate and advocate for marginalized artists using Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math (STEAM). In addition to our music technology and recording arts programs, we challenge sonic boundaries by making the tools for sustainable free expression exceedingly accessible.

Organization Summary

SCLASS provides upcoming and thriving artists with the resources and a facility to cultivate their musical abilities along with other creatives without boundaries. Our programs and services provide creatives with;

• Artist and Repertoire Services – where our team assists in connecting musicians to creatives and collaborators alike through our extensive network of experienced musicians, engineers, and artists.
• Songwriting Workshops – Creative writing sessions to help musicians expand on their new or existing projects in a congregate setting led by volunteer industry professionals who have experience in cultivating music for platforms such as television, commercial streaming platforms, and podcast.
• Audio Production Sessions – In conjunction with the songwriting workshops, these sessions aim to solidify ideas by educating artists on recording arts including, but not limited to: audio synthesis, analog recording technology, audio engineering, and mathematics.
• Music Distribution Preparation – Primers that educate creatives with the business aspects of music by teaching them how to release and market their final product all while maintaining artist independence.

Together these four initiatives establish an effective and, sustainable, life cycle of music development which is essential for transparency and equity within the ever-evolving music industry.
