Project Description

The mission of the School of Arts and Culture at MHP (the School) is to catalyze creativity and empower community. Located in the Mayfair neighborhood (the Mayfair) of East San José, the School’s goals are to:

1) Nurture the creativity and wellness of children and families through arts, culture, and community engagement;

2) Provide arts classes that augment and enrich elementary, middle, and high school arts curricula;

3) Connect East San José residents to their ethnic culture, while encouraging intercultural exchange; and

4) Ensure that the Mexican Heritage Plaza’s (the Plaza), a 55,000-square-foot facility with programmable space is available as a safe neighborhood resource for our diverse community.
