The San Diego Art Institute, DBA Institute of Contemporary Art San Diego (ICA San Diego) presents experimental art and learning with a mission to question everything. Through a vision to be a living laboratory, ICA San Diego presents an adventurous array of art, ideas, and education from galleries in both Balboa Park and Encinitas; totaling more than 15,000 square feet and across six acres of coastal landscape overlooking the San Elijo Lagoon.
A rotating and continually changing program of exhibitions, installations, commissions, public programming, classes, and workshops reflect an organization committed to the future from the cutting edge of art and public life. Through the merging of the San Diego Art Institute and Lux Art Institute in 2021, the ICA San Diego evolved from over 100 years of combined experience.
