Poetry Flash is what Lawrence Ferlinghetti called a “living newspaper.” We are committed to literary publishing that is rich in editorial content and provides greater access to literary experiences for writers and the public, for poets in the East Bay and across California. Each month, thousands refer to and enjoy Poetryflash.org. In 1972, our founding editors “flashed” on the idea of combining a poetry calendar with a literary review, so that poets could dialogue on their work and find each other. Publishing for forty-five years, Poetry Flash has provided access to the vibrant literary scene through various mediums, serving as an independent voice on behalf of poets, poetry, and other genres of creative writing.
