Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, pateldanceworks will raise pay for performers, collaborators, and admin from $20/hour to $25/hour to continue to move toward a thriving wage for the queer, trans, and BIPOC artists employed by the organization.
Organization Summary
pateldanceworks presents innovative and immersive performance centering practices of decolonizing the body through: public performances, teaching in the community, writing for publications such as InDance, the San Francisco Chronicle, and Life as a Modern Dancer, collaborating with Dancing Around Race to interrogate racial equity in the dance ecosystem, and holding open creative processes to all through open rehearsals and workshops.
